What is Orbasoft® Utilities™?
Orbasoft® Utilities™ is a 3-in-1 scanner and system optimization tool. It protects you against viruses and spyware. What is spyware and adware?
Spyware consists of small programs that install themselves on your computer without your knowledge. The most common place to get them is from file sharing sites, free games, free screensavers and other “free downloads” as well as pornographic sites, peer to peer file sharing applications and other similar content. Adware are similar to spyware programs. They work in the same way, but get their name because they add unwanted programs to your computer. Many of these spyware programs are advertised as adware or “freeware” and may not sound all that dangerous when you first hear about them. Some are even designed to entice you into wanting to download them and use them. Others come with free file-sharing sites and many people will take the risk just to be able to get something for free. Spyware and adware often collect your personal data, credit card info, email storage and other private information.
What are the signs of spyware?
What is spyware and adware and how can you know that you have it? The bad thing about spyware is that it is tricky. It sneaks onto your computer and then hides there and many people may not even know they have been infected much less how to get rid of it. You need to learn to identify the signs of spyware so you can tell if your computer has been infected and then learn how to remove it safely and effectively. In addition to learning the signs of spyware, it is important to learn where it comes from so you can take the proper preventative measures to avoid getting spyware again in the future. The quicker you see you have it, the faster you can take the steps to remove it and the less damage it will do while on your computer.
What does spyware do to my computer?
If the name alone wasn’t enough to tell you it’s a bad thing, you’ll know for sure when you find out what it does. Spyware, once installed in your computer tracks your internet activity. It logs the websites you visit, tracks keystrokes, passwords and much more. It may record and remember the type of websites you visit often and offer pop ups based on your proven internet activity. Spyware literally “spies” your internet activity, keeping logs and tracking everything that you do online from checking your email, to surfing the web, chatting in chat rooms or even instant messengers.
There are even programs that can be purchased which allow you to spy on the activity of another person’s computer. Your spouse, your parents, your friends or co-workers could monitor everything you do online if they had this program. These programs are considered illegal in the United States and many other countries as they violate privacy laws and wire tap laws. However this does not stop many people from using them anyway. One popular one of the past was “Lover Spy” which marketed itself as a way for jealous lovers to keep tabs on their significant others. When activated, this program would send itself to the victim in the form of a Thinking of You card and would in fact install malicious spyware onto the victim's computer. This program could track everything the person did on that computer including spying on URLs they visit, stealing passwords, monitoring every keystroke. This information would then be sent back to a host server without the victim every knowing they have been intruded upon. There are even programs like this that will log chats, instant messengers and even turn on a person’s web camera. This is obviously more than a personal violation as it would also allow the thief to access to credit card and bank information, personal passwords and much more.
This type of internet spying can cause serious problems for people who do online banking, purchase things online and handle accounts and other information via the internet. In addition to doing a very detailed check of your browser history, spyware can also install DLLs and other executable files, which will send a continuous data stream of information about your computer out to the parent company. This opens a backdoor to your machine which hackers can also use to access and intercept your personal data and confidential information. They can also send and receive cookies from other spyware/adware programs and invite them to your computer as well. So while you may start out with one program, you may end up with several.
Many spyware and adware programs were designed and marketed to sound less intrusive and harmful than what they really are so that people would be less likely to fight against them or remove them. Because of this and the fact that many people do not even realize it is spyware that is causing their computer problems, these companies that produce spyware programs are able to infect millions of computers without people even knowing what was doing it. How do I know if I have a spyware infection?
The symptoms of spyware and malware will vary depending on what type of infection you have. These are just some of the many signs of spyware infection. What is Active Protection?
Active Protection is the premium software feature that will perform its automatic functions to identify and remove spyware and keep your system clean and safe, while you use your computer in run-time.
How fast is the scanner?
The scanner is pretty fast. The speed depends on your system. The Quick scan usually takes around 5 minutes. It scans the most critical parts of your system. Deep scan usually takes more than 30 minutes, and provides the maximum chance of detecting problems on your computer.
What is the difference between the free trial and the paid version?
The free trial version of Orbasoft® Utilities™ offers you the full scanning and software features. See the
comparison chart here. However should you wish to remove/quarantine any found infections you need to register. With a registered version you get full protection of your computer, including the Live Update feature with new spyware and malware signatures being added daily. With Live Protection you get new spyware threats added to your scanning engine every day.

Is it safe to clean dysfunctional registry keys detected with Orbasoft® Utilities™?
Yes, in many cases it is safe to clean the corrupted registry keys using Orbasoft® Utilities™ to enhance the computer’s performance. If you are in doubt don't remove the registry key.
What are tracking cookies?
Tracking cookies are the cookies that are set by different programs including web sites. Some of these files are harmful while others are not intensely dangerous. Not all tracking cookies are included in the scanning list, as some of them are from known trustworthy sites. When the scanning has been completed, you have the option of unticking the tracking cookies you wish to keep on your pc.

If my software is not working properly, what should I do?
Should it happen that the software is not working properly or you are experiencing problems with installing the software, please contact our customer support.
If my existing software is facing updating problems, what should I do?
If you are using an older version of Orbasoft® Utilities™, then first uninstall it, and then try to
redownload the latest version here. Make sure to delete cashe, cookies and temporary internet files. Also open Internet Explorer -> Click on Tools -> Click on Internet Options -> General -> Settings -> Check for newer versions of stored pages "Every visit to the page”. If you are using the latest version then make sure you installed it properly and there were no corrupt system files. If the problem persists please send an email to our customer support.
We would like to order a license for more than 5 computers?
Should you wish more than 5 licenses, you do it by changing the quantity in the checkout. E.g. for getting 10 licenses you select 5 on the order page, then in the checkout change the quantity to 2. You then get 5 x 2 = 10.
If Orbasoft® Utilities™ does not detect a spyware, what will I do?
If the quick scan doesn't detect any threats on your pc, please try using the deep scan. First make sure, that you have done a "live update", so that you are protected with the latest spyware definitions.
I am not getting support emails?
Sometimes strong email filters do not allow the support emails to stay in the inbox. They might be treated as spam. You may change your email settings or you may check your spam folder for the emails.
